Jamboree On The Air

Scouts talking to scouts around the world. The 51st Annual Jamboree On The Air will again take place the third weekend of October, KØBSA will be returning again to Rum River Scout Camp, located five miles north of Anoka. We will be open to the public from 9 AM to 4 PM Saturday, October 18. Jamboree on the Air is open to Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Scouters or any person interested in amateur radio. Please stop in for a few hours to experience the fun!

The annual Scout Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), is the highlight of the Radio Scouting calendar, with over a quarter of a million Scouts and Guides taking part. Each year, there are around 5,000 amateur radio stations taking part, spread over nearly 100 countries. For two days on the third weekend in October, Scouts exchange greetings and news of Scouting with other members of the world’s largest youth movement. The conversations can be with someone in a neighboring town or on the other side of the world. For boys and girls in isolated communities or islands, JOTA is often the first confirmation that Scouting is much the same all around the world. For many youngsters taking part, JOTA increases their international
